Somatic counselling that helps you understand your patterns, reconnect with your body, and move toward a more aligned life

Welcome

Beginning counselling is often a quiet act of courage — a moment when something within us asks for support as we navigate the complexities of life.
The struggles we carry may show up as anxiety, overwhelm, conflict, or a sense of disconnection. Sometimes we understand where these patterns began, and sometimes we simply feel their impact in our bodies and daily lives.
Healing begins when we are met with genuine presence and compassion. My work is grounded in creating a trusting, authentic relationship where your experiences are honoured and every part of you is welcome.
Through gentle awareness of both mind and body, we begin to understand the patterns that have shaped your life. From this place of understanding, space opens for old responses to soften, new insight to emerge, and meaningful change to unfold.
If you feel curious about this work, I invite you to reach out and explore whether working together feels like the right fit for you.

I am also an approved service provider for the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA).
My work as a counsellor has been shaped by more than thirty years of listening, learning, and walking alongside people through life’s challenges. Over time, I have come to appreciate how powerful it can be when people are truly heard and supported in reconnecting with themselves.
My work today brings together this professional background with a deep curiosity about the ways our bodies, emotions, and lived experiences shape who we become. I am continually inspired by the courage it takes for people to look inward and begin creating meaningful change in their lives.
I am grateful to live and work on the traditional lands of the Quw’utsun people in the Cowichan Valley. This beautiful place nourishes me deeply—whether I am paddle boarding, cycling, hiking, spending time in the garden, or time with my husband, family, friends, and community.
Why Unity?

Unity Counselling is named for something I have witnessed again and again in my work: healing begins when the different parts of ourselves—mind, body, emotions, and inner wisdom—begin to come back into relationship with one another.
When we feel divided within ourselves, life can feel confusing, overwhelming, or disconnected. As we gently restore a sense of inner connection, clarity and resilience begin to grow naturally.
This inner unity also shapes the way we show up in the world. As we become more whole within ourselves, our relationships often begin to shift as well.
Healing is never only personal. Each step we take toward greater wholeness naturally ripples outward into the lives and communities we are part of.
Counselling becomes a space where this process can unfold with support, compassion, and curiosity.
Healing
Life inevitably brings challenges—sometimes through sudden events, and sometimes through experiences that unfold slowly over time. As children, we often develop ways of coping with pain, stress, or uncertainty. These strategies can help us get through difficult moments, but as life continues, they may begin to feel limiting or overwhelming.
Counselling offers a space to gently notice these patterns with curiosity and compassion. As we begin to listen more closely to our bodies and emotional experiences, deeper understanding can emerge. From this place of awareness, new possibilities
for healing and change begin to open.
Healing is not about fixing something that is broken. It is about reconnecting
with the resilience, wisdom, and wholeness that already exist within you.

Approach
My work is grounded in a person-centred, relational approach that honours each individual’s unique history, experiences, and goals. Rather than applying a single method, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support what is most helpful in the moment.
Many of the challenges we experience are not only held in our thoughts, but also within our nervous systems and bodies. For this reason, my work often includes gentle awareness of physical sensations, emotions, and patterns of response. As we slow down and listen more closely to these signals, new insight and meaningful change can begin to emerge.
I am deeply committed to creating a space where you feel seen, respected, and supported. In this environment, people often begin to reconnect with their own inner wisdom and resilience, allowing healing and growth to unfold naturally.
My training includes:
• Somatic Attachment Psychotherapy
• Somatic Experiencing (Levels I & II)
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
• Internal Family Systems (IFS)
• Certified BrainGAME™ Teacher

About Unity Counselling
New Client Consultation

Individual Therapy

I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone, online, or in person consultation as an opportunity for us to connect and get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.
During this conversation, you’re welcome to share what brings you to counselling and what you hope to explore or change. I’ll listen with openness and curiosity, and I can also answer any questions you may have about my approach or what the counselling process may look like.
This initial meeting allows us both to gently sense whether working together feels supportive and aligned before beginning the counselling journey.
There is no pressure or expectation during this call — it’s simply a chance for us to meet and explore whether this work feels right for you.
I welcome adult clients (18+) from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life. Whoever you are, every part of you is welcome and honoured here.
After our initial consultation, if we both feel a sense of connection and fit, we can begin working together in one-on-one sessions. These sessions create a space to gently explore, process, and understand the many layers of your life and inner world.
Our work may include gentle awareness of thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, helping you understand and shift patterns that no longer serve you.
Together, we will shape a therapeutic process that supports your unique intentions, needs, and pace.
Sessions are available in person in the Cowichan Valley, or remotely by secure video or phone, so you can access support in the way that feels most comfortable for you.

Spring Classes Begin April 9, 2026
(Fall 2026 classes to be announced)
If you feel curious about understanding your patterns more deeply and creating meaningful change in your life, I invite you to explore the 10-week Mastering the BrainGAME™ course.
This program offers a structured and supportive space to examine how beliefs, habits, and emotional patterns shape our experience. Through weekly learning and reflection, participants begin to develop new ways of relating to themselves and the world around them.
Many people find that this work helps them move beyond old limitations and begin creating lives that feel more aligned with their values and intentions.

If something in these words resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. Our first conversation is simply an opportunity to connect and explore whether this work feels supportive for you.
